HR Manager – Build a Strong HR Foundation for a Growing Organisation
We are seeking a foundational HR Manager to establish and lead the HR department. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction and hands-on implementation of HR practices across the business. As an HR leader, you will help develop HR strategies, policies, and initiatives to efficiently manage our workforce, drive a positive work culture, and support business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Strategy & Policy Development:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business goals.
- Create and maintain HR policies that foster a productive and compliant work environment.
- Ensure communication and maintenance of HR documents and policies across the organisation.
Talent Acquisition & Management:
- Lead the recruitment process, ensuring alignment with company culture and role requirements.
- Support the leadership team with recruitment, contract, and workplace agreement needs.
- Design onboarding programs to integrate new hires efficiently and effectively.
Performance Management:
- Develop a fair and effective performance review system linked to business objectives.
- Coach leadership teams to drive successful performance conversations.
- Establish clear performance metrics in collaboration with leadership.
Employee Relations & Industrial Relations:
- Develop an industrial relations strategy, including risk planning and alignment with audits.
- Resolve staff-management communications, ensuring compliance with employment standards.
- Facilitate union negotiations and collective bargaining to maintain legal compliance.
Capability, Training & Development:
- Identify training and development needs and implement programs to address gaps.
- Align training initiatives with business objectives to maximise employee contribution.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Develop competitive compensation and benefits plans that enhance employee retention.
- Manage employee benefit programs to support organisational goals and meet employee needs.
Work Health and Safety (WHS):
- Develop and enforce safety policies to create a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits, fostering a culture of safety.
Legal Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, minimising legal risks.
Role Outcomes:
- Established HR Framework: Build and implement a robust HR framework that supports strategic goals.
- Enhanced Employee Engagement: Drive improvements in employee engagement and retention through effective HR practices.
- Compliance & Safety Standards: Achieve 100% compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Strategic HR Leadership: Provide leadership that contributes to the company's overall success and competitiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Proven ability to develop HR strategies and manage a comprehensive HR department.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
